Resetting
OKAY. I am overloading a bit on Flickr and LJ, so I am resetting. I posted all the photos I had left (besides some of the new bike frame for later use), and they suck for the most part. Just need to detox, photo-wise, because I am borrowing Matt's MUCH NICER lens, and the difference is stunning. I am not proud of what I've been producing lately, and I really need to focus on finishing my album and playing music for a while. Therefore, I'm not posting any more photos until I get a new lens and I can figure out what my goals are regarding the internet in general. Going to be more deliberate and quality about what I do from here on out. Also, no Orcaskine today because I just don't want to. In celebration of putting crappy stuff in the past, here are some people who are important to me:

Dread and Money: Guest Spot!
Honestly, if you had told me last week that I'd be sitting in my room with Matt Sanders, dissecting headphones and trying to make them work better, I'd have thought you were looking through my day planner. To put it bluntly, Matt and I have been homies for years. But now, maybe 7 days have elapsed since the aforementioned hypothetical scenario, and through the magic of blogs, bloggers, and the blogosphere that is Blogland, Blogregon, we are still totally tight.

What Gives

Oh, what a loss

A New Kind

Knobs + Phones

After the successful surgeries, and in some cases successful homicides, I made him my signature dish of Pad Thai:

Signature dish

Doesn't it look delicious? Since he's a SEASONED FOOD BLOGGER AND ALL, I wanted to see his reaction. At first, he was apprehensive, as he had never seen a noodle or sprout before:

Apprehensive

Those people are my roommates, probably. And here you can just see as he falls head over heels:

He Likes It!

Anyway, that was my celebrity blogger visit for today! Thanks for reading, you guys.

About My Bike: Part 1
This is not interesting. This is long and boring. This has no purpose outside of my personal desire, a reason for the existence of which escapes me. This is merely a detailed look at my bike situation right now, which I will put behind a cut for the first time ever:

My bike

WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO READ THIS THING ABOUT MY BIKE? )

Two things for those of you who didn't read that (I trust no one actually did):

1: I realized while writing this that when I work on or try to build a bike for a girlfriend, we break up shortly thereafter. I am not making this up, it has happened every time. If you are planning on dating me and don't want to break up, do not let me build or fix your bike. It will end in tears.

2. Help me name the bike pictured above! Anything goes.

Blog War: OH SHIT
FIRST!

Mouse With a Piece of Cheese

Alicia, I am so sorry this is such a terrible picture, but it's all I got, and you gotta do what you gotta do.

She just got me so hard, you guys. On a day at work when ANY other time would have been TOTALLY FAIR, she comes in at the WORST (best) time possible. It's been painfully slow today, and she waltzes in with her camera right as I have three food orders. Not when I'm drawing, not when I'm making a drink, and not when I'm pouring a really great cappuccino mere moments before. What's more, I was messing with the settings on my camera earlier, and it totally betrayed me so hard. How embarrassing! Blogging first is little consolation.

Anyway Alica, hats off. Great job today, you seriously owned me.

Gosh dang it

willya look at those wonderful human beans!
so much fun.
meagan came to visit (hi meagan! my brothers are envious i got to hear "poor student" live) and played a backyard show at mimi's mansion along with some other lovely and talented folks. it was so great! go run, NOW and listen to wisdom tooth. it'll put hair on your chest, make your flowers grow, or at the very least make you smile.

later on during the visit there was much sitting on our roof, park talks (including chasing after a life sized staue of a giraffe on wheels in the park), and then ended up at sydney's (hi sydney!) apartment to gossip about people we oddly knew and watch t.v. and then sadly say farewell to everyone.

now i am taking a drawing break (so overwhelming!), but i am very excited about my new drawings and painting ideas. they feel much more comfortable and like me than most of them have since about march.

also julianna and i climbed halfway up mt. tabor park which was beautiful and steep. then she made really good chocolate cake that we ate tonight.
in case you could not tell by this entry, i am very tired.

ay yi yi, well i better get back to work. i've been on serious hermit lockdown because i have a big show coming up in a week!

love, rebecca

Not that this has EVER worked, but...
Karl Blau is playing here tonight and it's gonna be pretty awesome, I bet. I will be here around 9, after hanging out with Harris and Aaron and discussing a sweet (secret?) project.

Anyway, the intel is here on this little website I made once.

Come out!

I guess this is exactly what happened last time, but there are two pictures that I wanted to share:

This one, of her obvious surrender, and this next one, of Eli looking like a total sleezebag:

Brainstorming
Ideas for future book titles.

How to: Corndogs in my Oreo Blaster
This Is It Even If It Says It Isn't It
School is Dumb
Jeff Gordon: What They Are
Footlong Banana Split with Chicken Wings (And Other Stories Without Them)
Road Sign: Goat Farms?
24 Hour Ice Cream Farm: Is It Here? Where That Is
Lightning Fast Corndog on Pizza Wheels and Other Mythological Creatures like Bigfoot, but Real
Larry the Cable Guy: I Want One
How To: Books {Vol. Corndog}
The Corndog Chronicles
Fatte's Pizza

I'll be dealing with a lot of reoccurring themes throughout my career. Matt, Chandler, Brett and I made these, then I remade them, because fucking shit guys it's my book. They'll mostly be comprised of pictures because writing stuff is too hard.

august runs fast
my, i'm up quite early this morning (mostly because i feel physically awful, why oh why?! maybe it's the heat), but my fan is working and the light coming in is very very pretty! violet and mysterious.

and here is a new painting that i really wish i could have spent more time on. it's just a very long story in my head and i think it should have been much bigger!

anywho it is called "bury me (like our feet that pound seeds into the earth)" and i am honored to say that it is going to be up tonight at project gallery (la buddies, go for me!). you can go HERE if you'd like the lowdown.

OH! and pdx buddies, tonight there is a house show where the talented and lovely miss meagan from wisdom toothis playing! it starts at 7pm, and i am getting there come hell or high water with bells on. you should try to make it out if you can!

i'm sorry if i seem skiddish. i blame the unwavering heat from these past few days/many days locked in my room hunched over a desk with a 000 paint brush!

love and a big hug, rebecca
